 What would you do if your child was diagnosed with a terminal disease?
We felt we had to do something to help find a cure for our child. We could not sit back and wait for someone to do it for us.
When Hannah was diagnosed with CF in February 2001, we immediately checked out the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation website.
We have learned that the CF Foundation is one of the most efficient health charities in the country. Almost 90 cents of every dollar goes to research. Research for the cure for Hannah and the 30,000 other Americans suffering from this horrible, painful disease.
We knew we could walk and formed our first Great Strides team Hannah's Bananas. In May of 2001, we walked with several friends, family and co-workers. We raised over $9000 dollars our first year. In 2002, Renee joined the Great Strides walk committe and has co-chaired several times.
Hannah's Bananas will be participating in their 10th walk in 2010. We have raised over $130,000 for cystic fibrosis since 2001.
